Create a New Interview

The first step in getting set up is to create your new interview. This is where you can choose your questions, set time limits, and add additional info to your interview.


To get started, watch our video or follow the instructions below. The end of this article also provides a demonstration of the candidate's experience when they log in to attempt their interview.

Step 1) Head into your account by selecting the card with the name of your company.mceclip0.png
Step 2) Select New Interview from the side-bar.

From here, you can fill in each form on the page to create your new interview.

Basic Information

 

Step 3) Enter the basic information for your interview, including closing date, location, and a title with reference number. Press Next at the bottom-right of the page to proceed.mceclip1.png

 

 


Questions

 

Step 4) Select the Type of Response.

  • Basic - all Respondents will answer the same question
  • Random - Respondents will answer one question randomly selected from the pool of questions you have chosen. More details here
  • Close Ended - A multiple choice style question with fixed answers. You can set this up to have one or many possible answers, and assign each answer a different score. More details here

Step 5) Enter your question by typing in the box at the top of the page.

 You can also use the Question Bank to select questions that are saved to your account, including free questions provided by the Vieple team. To save your own questions to the question bank, read through our article here.

Step 6) Choose the type of response for this question, and the amount of time to review the question and to respond.

The Audio, Essay and Diversity Friendly questions types are additional options available for your account. To add these to your account, please contact your account manager.


Optional) Advanced Options - you can click the Advanced Options button to expand the list and see further settings.mceclip7.png
  • Reanswer - allow respondents to try again if they are not satisfied with their response
  • Preview in Advance - show this question on the home page, so the respondent can prepare their response ahead of time

  • Attach Video - play a video to candidates before they are shown the question. More details here
  • Video Title and Instructions - these are displayed next to the video.

  • Scoring Guide - this text is shown to Raters when they are reviewing this question. You can click 'Use Default' to load up an example that you can start working from.

Step 7) Click Add Question to add this to the list. After that, you can click Next or repeat the above steps to add more questions.
 
 

 

 


Additional Settings (Optional)

 

  • Capture Respondent Profile Picture

    Profile pictures are shown on the candidate's profile as well as on the respondent list.

    • Mandatory - everyone must take a profile picture to continue (we recommend using this if you would like to verify identity)
    • Optional - the respondent can skip the Profile Picture page
    • Skip - the profile picture page is not shown to respondents at all

  • Practice Question - Customise the text shown to candidates during the practice question.

    You can leave this blank to use the default practice question ("How would you briefly describe yourself?")

  • Additional Ratings - Additional ratings are review scores that are separate to individual question scores. These are used to score candidates on their overall performance in a given criteria.

    When reviewing a candidate, these ratings show as additional score categories.

  • Welcome Message and Intro Video - Show a short welcome message and video to candidates at the beginning of the interview.

  • Thank You Message and Video - Show a short thank you message and video to candidates at the end of the interview.

  • Finalisation Required - If enabled, reviewers will be required to finalise respondents. Reviewers cannot make changes to the ratings and comments for a respondent after confirming the finalisation.

  • Allow Self Reflect - Respondents can log back into to their account and review what they have submitted (they will not be able to change any responses).

  • Audio Only for Review - If enabled, Raters will not be able to see the video submissions (can be overridden).

  • Hide Respondent Details for Review - Identifying details such as name and email will be hidden from Raters by default (can be overridden).

When you are happy with your settings, click "Create Interview" to complete the process.
